that he was "a black man in a white boy's body"? I didn't start listening to 3rd Bass much until sometime around '94-'95 -I'm a younger cat- but I've heard alot of stories about how racially militant he came off as in their earlier interviews. I've heard that he made that statement, but I never heard it and I'm interested in those early days of 3rd bass that I was too young at the time to appreciate. ALSO, if anyone knows where I could get my hands on any interviews w/ the guys from around the "cactus" period, I'd appreciate that.

I don't remember him saying that, of course I could be missing something there. I know on their reunion track, Hail to the Chief (which is available to download on the main site), Serch says something about his mom and his sister, the only white lips he's kissed, just so you know I fuckin hated white chicks...
Aside from that I don't really remember him saying he was black, anyone else care to jog my memory?

It must have been a rumor that he said that line. There appears to be no such track. Some people used to think he was Black or biracial because of his 'do, which some Jewish cats call a "Jew-fro"!
He styled it into a better high-top fade than most other white dudes
