What do you think is Serch's best song on his solo album Return of the Product?

I like Here it Comes (original) and Back to the Grill, mostly because those are the ones I heard the most before I got the album.

Ah, The Return of the Product - This was a good album but it could have been much better especially considering that Serch is such a good freestyle rapper.

My favorite song is "Back to the Grill" which the sequel to "Kick 'Em in the Grill". It fun; it' catchy. Just classic old school rap. First appearence by Nasty Nas and Chubb Rock was great. There have a been a few versions of this song. There was the video / radio edit and then there was one version that had an extra rapper in it. I don't know the name. Might have been OC. Does anyone own the single?

Return of the Product - starts off with a bang then just goes flat.

Daze in a Week - I like this one the more I listen to it. Nice background beat to it. In the album, he says, "Like it or not, I don't care about the Hammer / He'd be my b**** if me and him was in the slammer".

But then Pete Nice came out with the Rat Bastard video which supposedly had him beat up a lookalike-Serch with a bat. Thereafter, Serch came out with the Daze in a Week video and changed the line, ".....I don't care about the Minister / He'd be my girl if me and him were prisoners".

Problem with Serch - he still carries a grudge against Vanilla Ice.

It's terrible that so many people remember Ice Ice Baby and not Back to the Grill. What the hell?
As jericho said "Problem with Serch- he still carries a grudge against Vanilla Ice".
I would like to add; the problem with Vanilla Ice is that he sucks.

When I was in Junior High in a predominately minority neighborhood in NYC, people were playing Ice Ice Baby out of their cars, kids were repeating the lyrics. It's a catchy song. But then my whole school just mocked Vanilla when he came out with "Play that Funky Music Whiteboy". Vanilla sucks, but he isn't the worst. I'll leave that to Jesse Jaymes aka "Shake it Like a White Girl".

I saw an MTV special a while back on music rivalries and they featured Serch vs Vanilla. Serch mentioned how "Vanilla got pimped out the ass for millions of dollars", how "he still hated him to this day" and to "stay the F*&^% in Miami". Also how when they filmed the Pop Goes the Weasel video, Pete accidentally hit Henry Rollins (who played Ice) real hard, Henry was so pissed that when he stepped in Pete's face Serch wanted to kill him because he was "convinced" that he was Ice.

The whole record is wicked awesome. Personal fav's here are "Hard But True" as it's a definate subwoofer monster, and "Daze In A Weak" because Serch just rips shit apart.

The best track on this album was definitely Back To The Grill I just never get tired of hearing it. I also prefer the second mix of Here It Comes although the first few times I listened to the album I preferred the original. Maybe the shout outs to the people on the moon and to the weebles swayed me!

I have to also mention that the first minute and a half of Return Of The Product is just slammin and its a shame the track slowed down after that.

As far as the whole Vanilla Ice thing goes the less said about that guy the better I can't believe he is still making records and touring - who the hell buys that stuff??!!

When I listen to the album these days the best songs to me are the Skeff Anslem produced track "hits the head"("bodies all around, start checkin for the substance, the context, disrespect, but I expect...") - that beat and those intro rhymes give me the chills, also "Scenes from the mind". Also back to the grill remix with the new verses was nice.

I thouught it was a tight album and Serch's rhymes and delivery were dope but I thought the production by Wolf and Epic lacked something at times, some of it was too clean or something. In an interview Serch describes it as the "LA street sound at the time" or something but I was looking forward to hearing Serch come back with some more hitting new york sounds. I think in this respect (beats) Pete Nice kind of came back with a stronger package, plus he ended up with DJ Richie Rich too.
