What up good peoples:

As always I hope this blog finds you in good health and spirits.  To many of you it is the festival of lights, so I wish you a happy Hanukkah.  Some of you are getting ready for Christmas so to the day the you Lord and Savior was born I wish you a joyous holiday.  Some of you are getting ready to celebrate Kwanza.  May the principals continue to guide you on your path to complete fulfillment.  Some of you have no belief in a high power which makes you an atheist, and I wish you good weather these last weeks of December.

The concept of a higher power is all around us this time of year.  Whether it be the miracle that the flask of oil which should have only lasted one day lasted eight and allowed the jews to prepare for the Sabbath in the temple.  Whether it be the recognition of the miracle of Jesus birth to his virgin mother Mary,  The concept of a higher power is constant this time of year.  Some of you question the existense due to situations or living conditions.  "Why would G-d do this to me".  We all hear the questions.  "Why am I so blessed dear G-d for all you have provided me with this holiday season".   They go both ways.  The feelings about a higher power.  About those who gave thier life for it so that you could live on and do his work, or those that believe that we are all children of G-d and our duty to serve is everyday.  Some of us have taken the concept of a higher power and taken it personal so that you can intelligently explain that the true and living God is the black man.  Some of you see Muhamed as a messenger of Allah's word.  We all at some point feel the need to see if the power from above does govern us.  We usually ask these questions during this time of year.  If not all the time it is certianly heightened around the end of the year.

It makes me think about when a had a "Sky Pager".  Hold on, I am not going to show you how G-d and my old Sky Pager were alike, relax.  When I had a Sky Pager I would have a specail signature.  Whenever I would send Jay Z a message he would paticularly tell me how much he liked my custom signature.  It read like this:

"It's all G-d's plan,

It's all my effort".

It is the very reason why many bright people fail.  In life, or in business, in personal relationship, in sports, in prison for that matter.  Many people fail to put in the necessary effort to make things sucessful in thier life.  If there is a higher power, whether that higher power has a name or an identity,  at then end of the day if you don't put in the effort then nothing good will come to you.   If you do not bring forth the effort that got the idea in your mind and in your spirits, then you can blame a G-d of your choice, but no good will come to you.

This is relating to me personally this year.  I have had some bumps this year.  Losing my job at WJLB was a bump that I think might have buried a lot of my friends,  but Serchlite had the biggest year we ever had in 2006.  I know that for a minute I got low.  I did not wnat to get out of a bed.  I asked G-d why did he bring me here and why did he make me sell my home in New York and move my family here if this was going to happen and I would lose my job.  But I knew that all I needed to do was get back on my grind.  I took some time, actually a lot of time to mourn the loss of my job.  I needed time to bury it.  Then I went to work  We have renewed contracts with major clients, we have plans for events that are are coming around Pro Bowl and the NFL, and NBA Draft.  It has been my effort that has gotten me through this year.  but G-d has also given me a wonderful support system when I thought I would was going to fall.  This is where your effort is so important.  If other see your effort then they will support you.  It is how business gets done.  All the parts, whether employed by you, or through the spoken word,  are helping you move forward.  This is how G-d works.  The basics in anything is good word of mouth.  Whether that word come from a clergy or the dude at the mix tape spot.  Or in my case the magazines like Complex Magazine this month that did a four page spread on the new TV show.  My blessings keep coming and I keep moving towards my goal.  G-d gave me these opportunites but my effort made then reality.

It is all G-d's plan, it is all my effort.  No matter what keep your effort up to where G-d can see and feel it.  It will pay off no matter what

Love is love
