Serch Got Da Urges - Serch's Myspace Blog - 7/29/07

I now realize why Serch is often called the Aristotle of our time - I bet Serch's wife wished she let him get the cookie ...
Greetings:
As always I hope this blog finds you in good health and spirits. OK people, I need a little help from you. It is something that we all deal with on a day-to-day basis. They consume our thoughts; sometimes control our actions, to sometimes detrimental circumstances. It is urges. I am not going to front; this is my greatest stumbling block. When I get an urge to do something it consumes me. I will give you a basic one…Simple yet so consuming that it will drive me and the wife to fight and arguments. This one happened tonight.
Tonight I had an urge for an oatmeal cookie. Not just any oatmeal cookie but the big ones at Starbucks. Now being a celebrity I get my cookies and most of my drinks for free. It is a great bonus. So tonight after cooking for the family, and cleaning up, I grabbed my Iced coffee that was marinating in my fridge for the day, (OMG>>It is so lovely after a long hot day to have a perfectly chilled Iced Coffee) and I had the urge. It took me over. I said to the wife very calmly "Imma go out and get an oatmeal cookie from Starbucks, be right back". Now, for the record, I should not be eating an oatmeal cookie because I am a fat bastard and need to lose some weight to get ready for season two, which starts shooting in a few months. I do not NEED an oatmeal cookie, I need to get my fat ass on the elliptical machine and work off dinner. But I had the URGE. My lovely wife cock-blocked the cookies run. She told me about myself. Now, when you hear the truth and you know that the truth is being spoken it can be a difficult pill to swallow. I was not trying to hear her over the urge, so I said "Word, miss Rice Pudding in the fridge, with chocolate?" Never question an African American, Puerto Rican female about her rice pudding just FYI, and she then retold me about myself. Well I all of a sudden was over come by several other urges, urges that would cause me to purge. Like:
1-eating a box of Oreos, that will teach her.
2-Going to a strip joint and getting $500 dollars worth of lap dances by a chick named Spicy and come home with glitter and the smell of Nubian Musk all up on me.
3-Going out with some of my friends that my wife hates and just chilling out till 5am and not calling her and telling her where I was.
4-Eating another box of Oreos, Yeah that would really show her.
5-Eating a box of something that she likes just so she could eat it, like all her rice pudding.
The bigger question is why do guys, and yes I mean all men, when they cannot get what their urges desire, decide to toil with destructive behavior. If you don't want to admit to it men who read this that's fine, I will bear the cross for the sake of the argument. But when I cannot get what my urge is craving I want to do something self destructive that will ultimately satisfy not only the urge I am currently having but several other urges that I didn't even know existed until the first one was refused. I hate being snuffed. But in the end my wife is right. I do not need an oatmeal cookie at 11 o clock at night that will do nothing but stifle the hard work I have been putting in to get into better physical shape. So I was thinking about how my wife can help me besides pointing out the obvious. If I have an urge and she thinks it is not healthy for me to have, then to distract me from the urge, which she knows is not healthy for me, she should have sex with me. Or some sexual activity until my urge subsides. This way I will have something more fulfilling to consume my time while I am having this moment of urge. Don't you think this is a fair compromise? Please feel free to let me know what you think
Well I proposed this to my wife and she is waiting upstairs for me so…..
Got to go
MY WIFE IS THE BEST!!!!
Serch
(PS…Don't wait up I might be awhile)
LOL

Serch the Aristotle of our time ! I think that's hilarious !
Serch just loves to grab attention to himself now that he is a "celebrity" and all. Really, was all that stuff he wrote about some cookie necessary ?
This goes back to the real reason why the group broke up. According to Rich in an interview with the Source he would flip out as to why the Beastie's outsold them. His attack on Vanilla was more orchestrated to raise his profile and go pop. Nothing wrong with that but at the end of the day, he comes off as a clown....as evidenced by his blogs about Paris and "Da".
By the way he mentioned that he needed to stop eating because he was "a fat bastard". You mean to say, "The Rat Bastard" ?

I hear ya Jericho.
I'm pretty certain Pete doesn't pull out his celebrity card to gorge on pastries - I admire the way Pete downplays his being one of the illest emcees to ever touch a mic.
Pete deserves the newfound glory WAY more than Serch - that irks me.

Let me just add one more thing about Serch's self-imposed crusade against "Hip Hop which turned into Hip Pop" back in '91. He often criticized Vanilla and Hammer for commercializing their music. When the group appeared on Arsenio, Arsenio asked so does that mean Erik B. can't make a taco bell commercial ? And Serch's response was no but he should make a Nike commerical because "hoods wear Nikes".
Funny Arsenio should mention Erik B. because recently I saw a commercial with Rakim rapping about EA sports Football games for PS3. Is he selling out too or is that okay because only hoods play EA games and Madden. I mean what's wrong with Rakim getting paid ?
And for that matter, should KRS-1 be lambasted for his Sprite soda commercials ?
To be fair, I'm sure Pete went along with Serch's philosophy at the time, but he was more low key about it and if you compare the two, he never did anything to cheapen his image or sell out. Hence, White Rapper Season 2 for Viacom.

Okay, so Serch likes to attract attention to himself. So what? That's why he's famous. Most celebrities/entertainers like attention...if they didn't, they wouldn't be in the spotlight! I'll agree that the cookie blog was dumb, but every blog doesn't have to be all serious and thought-provoking. The Serch bashing is getting old. Okay, so Serch and Pete are two different people who live differently and maybe have different philosphies about life, music, etc. Again, so what? They both made history with 3rd Bass and made the group what it was. Because Pete chooses to stay "low key" and Serch chooses to stay in the spotlight doesn't make one more deserving of "new found glory" than the other. More power to Serch for trying to keep his career going and staying connected to hip hop (no matter how lame it is now-a-days). And, more power to Pete if he chooses to stay home, work on his baseball stuff, and chill. They'll both always get props from me and I'm sure from thousands of other fans.

You defending Serch gets old too - the dude makes his wife pay for his lack of willpower - she has to have sex with MC Serch for Christ's sake! Shouldn't some activist group step in here?

ridingpetesdick.com wasn't an available domain at the time - I'll have to see if it's free now - we'll switch it over.

Please do - fighting with you has become a hobby for me - right up there with collecting vinyl, jogging and worshiping at the altar of Pete Nice.

That would take some of the fun out of it. This way, I read your remarks, get all worked up, and then feel the need to respond. My responses won't be as good unless my blood pressure is slightly raised!

dat was by far da dumbest blog dat Serch has come up with as of yet. I've corresponded with him about da "Jewish isn't white" theory (which I consider to be dog ca-ca, by the way), and other things; I also have let him know I think he's an excellent family man, so he knows where I stand.
One of da problems I have always had about Serch is da way dat he has made race da entire platform of his career. A small example of dat would be how he makes mention of da fact dat his wife is Black and Puerto Rican, in da latest blog, where there was no context for it. So what, Serch? you want a biscuit? (or maybe a cookie :-D).
One definition of racism is to make a big deal of racial differences in situations where it is irrelevant. I think Serch uses the race concept as a way of getting attention.
