Cool video. This is obviously recent. I live in Mass, and hit a handful of Red Sox games every year, those are my Boooyyyys!. If the '07 World Series ends up back in Boston for game 6 (hopefully we take care of the Rockies before a game 7), I should head into town (Boston) to hit that bar and see if Pete is there. Then ask him what the hell is taking so long with the interview questions! Nah, I won't do that. I bet we'll here something shortly after the world series. He's that big into baseball, and surprisingly the Red Sox, that maybe he's watching too much baseball right now. I know I am.

dude! great find! This is the first I've seen from pete that he's active out in the public, awesome! I'm in Michigan, but plan on hitting this place up when I take a trip there. Please head that way and check it out. See if you bump into Pete!!

Love how the baseball theme is staying true to his core throughout his career.

I don't know. Doesn't have the right tone or history that Pete was talking about I don't think. Definitely want to figure this out as a road trip is in order!

Well the reporter on the ESPN video said it was right accross from Fenway, and this says that it is also right across from Fenway, so unless there are two places called "The Baseball Tavern".

I did some searching and it sounds like Pete doesn't own the whole bar, just runs the second floor. Here is a PDF file and there is an article in there about Pete and how he moved everything to the Second floor of "The Baseball Tavern".

ah cool. you've done your research. it especially makes sense if Pete just owns the second story. Because that website is pretty corporate sounding and sales-y, that's why i was suspicious. Pete could do a much better job selling his part with the history and stories. I'm a graphic designer and work on such websites if Pete ever reads this :)

Great find...
Watching that interview I can't believe that is Pete Nice!
I mean, this is the guy who did Dust To Dust, and cowrote Derelicts and the Cactus.
It just seems like its gotta be another guy.

He sounds different to me, a bit "whiter", but hey, Everlast did that
when he turned into Whitey Ford and went C&W.

Looks like he's enjoyed the wings and the beer since rap retirement wink

I wish Pete and Serch properly finished Ichabod's.  That would've been dope!

Peace

Pete's holding up pretty good - All he needs to do is lose 30lbs and he's back in Dust to Dust shape.

It's really good to see Pete "in motion" again - I have a feeling that if VH1 honored 3rd Bass (which they really need to in '08) that Pete would perform - which could *possibly* spark some sort of reunion tour, album or realty show (Pete and Serch in a modern day Odd Couple).

2 things related to 2007 Pete Nice:

1) Still waiting on our interview questions answered from Pete - supposed to have an update this week.

2) Over the weekend I heard recordings Serch did for Thumbplay Ringtones - He recorded a bunch of 3rd Bass phrases - like "Hey pick up the phone or you'll get the Gas Face" - in a couple, he claimed that Pete was standing next to him - like "Hey this is MC Serch and my man Pete Nice is standing next to me - keep steppin' to the A.M." - I thought that was interesting.

Benbos, welcome to the forum - GREAT find!

Hello everyone. I just found this site today, and this is very exciting. My name is Mitch myspace http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=180568198  I grew up on 3rd Bass. Pete Nice was always my favorite, and I can't believe he has something to do with that tavern. My cousin goes to M.I.T., and I think I'll be going to visit him real soon, especially since I found out about this. I look forward to posting my thoughts on the great rap group that was 3rd Bass, and I look forward to meeting all of you. This is a awesome site!!

I agree with Queue totally...I watch that video and I am stumped to look at him and listen, and connect him with what he used to be.

Sadly, it really confirms that the rapper we knew as Pete Nice is officially gone.

Don't misinterpret this message Pete-heads, I still love 'im.

I made the original post......glad to be here........I go to the Baseball Tavern all the time, I am a Red Sox season ticket holder and the BBT is the place to go if you don't want to be overwhelmed with tourist before a game. I have often seen other Boston team players (Bruins, Celtics, Patriots players) at the BBT and they pretty much get left alone from autograph seekers.   It is not directly across the street from Fenway per-say but it is pretty damn close.  Maybe a 2-3 minute walk.  The BBT used to be in another location about a block away and was real small, the moved to the current location about 3 years ago.  This it the website http://thebaseballtavern.com/ for it.  The building is big it has 4 levels, all with bars and plenty of room to mingle.  The basement has a small stage and is generally more quiet than the other three levels, the first floor has a DJ booth and gets very crowded, the second floor is the biggest of the levels and has a ton of baseball memorabilia on the walls and because of the size you can  usually easily move around and see browse what is on the walls. The top level is the roof deck which is awesome, it over looks Boston and you can see almost into Fenway.  The picture on the http://thebaseballtavern.com/ home page is from the roof deck of the BBT.  The one problem with the roof deck is it gets very crowded and they do have a capacity limit so you may have to wait before being allowed up there.  There is a bar up there with food and a lot of tables and chairs.  So have I ever seen Pete there? I don't know, I had no idea he was even involved in the BBT until after my last game at Fenway this season.  I probably have been there 50+ times this past season so I am sure I have seen him there but didn't know it, next season I will be on teh look out though.
