I've been a hip hop head since about 86 when I first heard the Beasties and Run DMC when they starting getting popular, then Yo! came out and I was introduced to a bunch of other artists like Rakim, Big Daddy, Fresh Prince etc...

However, as much as I love it, it's not the only music I listen to. I can pretty muchl listen to a wide variety of music, there isn't too much that I dislike, a lot of that comes from listening to the radio at work everyday where I get more exposure to other genres. Also some of us have agreed that mainstream rap has gone down the toilet.

So as far as other music, I am a sucker for 80's music, mostly since that was what I grew up listening to and since we listen to an "oldies" (I hate saying that... makes me feel old) station at work I have a lot of exposure to 70's rock etc... which I do enjoy some of it.

So what are some of your other listening options? Are you strictly hip hop or do you have a much broader spectrum that you listen to?

I agree about the stage of listening song. I am not strictly on hip hop but also in love songs.
