Hammer speaks on him and Serch...

http://www.allhiphop.com/stories/multimedia__video/archive/2009/06/19/21684873.aspx

Apparently Hammer forgot that Serch owns his own record label and helped put Nas out and has had two shows on TV, is back on the radio etc...

I hope he doesn't truly think that Serch's claim to fame is the alleged "hit" Hammer put on him.

I will admit I was an MC Hammer fan when he did Turn this Mutha Out when it was played on Yo MTV raps but grew tired of him with U Can't Touch This crap and Too Legit to Quit crap. That said, I didn't really get why 3rd chose to have a feud with him. I read it was because Hammer dissed Run DMC in a song and they took offense to that. I am probably in the minority on this but I don't care for Run DMC. I know they made their mark in rap history and paved the way for rap being mainstream but I just didn't like their songs. In fact, it was Run DMC that made me avoid rap music altogether until I discovered 3rd Bass and Public Enemy. So what Hammer did was not a big deal in my book. I once saw Hammer on Yo MTV with Ed and Dr Dre and they talked about the Gas Face and Hammer was diplomatic and seemed perplexed as to why they were picking on him. I remember Ed Lover going to the camera and saying "3rd Bass...you sold 450 - 500 thousand records? (compared to Hammer) You guys better shut up".

My part in all of the music videos I've seen was in Gas Face when Pete says "Hammer shut the....." and they push him away before he completes the sentence. At the time I thought was real edgy - one rapper calling out another with cursing ! Loved it.

Ahh hell.
Serch would rap circles around Hammer. Just wanted to throw in that 2 cents.

I have to admit Hammer did a record I liked and is still in my CD collection. Let's Get It Started. Classic old school shit. Everything after that to me was too poppy and kinda worthless.
Anyway, thanks for the link.

Waht is Hammer talking about? DOD sold quite well Im sure? I think it sold somewhere around 1,000,000 didnt it? Hell, didnt TCA sell more than 300,000 copies?

I think Hammer is not understanding the beef Serch and Pete have towards him. He's basing it all on album sales, which is the point of why they hate him so much.

Yeah, Hammer doesn't get it. And he's ignoring what 3rd Bass sold as a group. The 300,000 that he's refering to is Return Of The Product. He had even made a couple of cracks about Serch's record sales on his Funky Headhunter album back in 94.
