Weird... he never posted anything on his Myspace that he was moving or anything. He usually self promotes things like this.

I've been listening for a couple of hours - they don't let him open the mic too often. He started the show with an announcement that it's "Gas Face Friday". I hope they let him talk more after drive-time - I don't think he's been on the mic for more than a collective 3 minutes in the last 2 hours.

The 3 minutes Serch did speak, he was entertaining.

This is the first time I've listened to non-satellite radio in 4 years and remember why  - 'cause program directors are the bane of the community. The station is on a 90 minute loop - they're running a 14 mindless song rotation, kicked off by Souljah Boy. And how are Ja Rule and Petey Pablo "back in da day old-school joints"?

Hey Clear Channel, personality builds audience ... how about the MC Serch Morning Zoo - THIS IS NOT A GAME!

I listened yesterday for about 20 minutes. It was mostly all R&B. Zzzzzzzzzz...  The 2 "back in da day old-school joints" that they played were Black Sheep Choice Is Yours and  JayZ & Foxy Brown I'll Be...

Here's Serch's official statement from his MySpace blog 7/25/2009:

Waaddup:

As always I hope this finds you in good health and spirits.  Your boy is back, big blue eyes is back, tell your neighbor the truth is back...

I hope there are still some of you out there that still read this since the last post I put up was when George Bush was President LOL...So much going on in the world and in my life.  So much that has changed and still much that has stayed the same.

I have moved from my home in the Midwest to the sunny south.  It has been a long journey in only a short amount of time.  I want to say this lovingly to all my people in the Murda Mitten....I cannot tell you how much your love and support meant to me the last seven years I laid my head in the D.  I will always have a spot there (Since I will never be able to sell my house since the crash) and will visit often.  I love the D and will always be that way.  Be that as it may,  When you live somewhere that is depressed and you are thriving you don't really know how much you can accomplish until you leave.  When I left the D I was no longer on radio there (Shout out to all my homies at WJLB and WHTD) and I was made to feel like I had no value anymore.  Funny how things can change as soon as you leave.

When I got to the south I was met with a bunch of job offers and radio positions.  Turns out that the rest of the country thinks that radio in Detroit letting me go was a dummy move and I was given a great deal at 103.5 the Beat in Miami, real sexy.  I am now on Monday through Friday 3pm to 7pm and Serchlite Saturday is poppin from 10pm to 2am with the old school show. Ratings in the afternoons have never been higher than they are at the Beat now and I will be soon doing  lot of other stuff with radio in the future.

Another thing that I found out after I left the D was that my skills were more in demand than ever before.  Since I left there I have done more speaking engagements and more parties that I ever did in the D.  Turns out that the reason I was not given as much work was because the flights from Detroit were so expensive to fly me places that it turned off the promoters.  It seems that Northwest has a lock on the Detroit airport and has put a premium on the honor of flying into the D.  Lets put it this way:  I just did an event in the midwest and flew from the south.  The promoter had been trying for years to get me to his club and when he heard I moved he jumped at the chance because what it would have cost him to fly me down from Detroit opposed to the south was 300 percent more.  No, you read that right 300 PERCENT more.  that just seems dumb to me, but I do not own an airline so what do I know.

I also met with a very large financier who is shooting a film in Detroit.  Many of you might not know this, but Michigan has made it incredibly favorable to shoot films there by giving filmmakers a 42% tax break on shooting there.  Basically that means for every dollar that you spend in Michigan to shoot a film they will give you 42 cents back, so this financier who is shooting a 10 million dollar film got a check from Michigan for 4.2 million back.  Not a bad deal right, but here is the issue that they are having on set.   Locals are stealing property off the set and burglarizing vehicles, destroying shoot locations and even in some small cases, making the film crew pay the hood to keep them safe.  this means that security and insurance goes up and the actors who hear about this from other actors and agents, are now saying that they don't want to shoot a film in Michigan.  This is just a small film and one financier but he told me straight up that tax break or not, he would have to strongly consider doing another film there.  I think personally that the dude is just paranoid and not use to some realness, but he is writing the check so he gets that last laugh.

As I sit and write this and overlook my pool and my backyard which leads to the 12th fairway I can only stop and praise the MOST HIGH for all my blessings.  My family could not be happier and even though I miss my friends I must say, that rolling down the block with the top down and thinking about winter temperature in the mid 70 is feeling pretty good right about now.

If you are still out there and I hope you are I will do my best to write as much as I can.  I need your support in the things I do and I like to hear about how you are all doing.

The bottom line is this and I have said this before, sometime to become comfortable you have to get uncomfortable.  I was really uncomfortable for a month, I am chilling now

Love is love and my love for you is always here
