Watch the second part of the video for the Pete Nice info. I'm not really familiar with Cracker Jax but I'll check them out.
The article did answer a question I've had for a while though

"The frustration and curiosity was even further peaked on the 3rd Bass “Derelicts Of Dialect” album, courtesy of the K.M.D produced and featured track, “Ace In The Hole”. At the end of the track they are giving shout outs and one of the names is reversed, as in “we change our mind on that shout out”…ha. Soon as I got my hands on the vinyl version, I reversed it to see who they were “dissing” and that name was the “Cracker Jax”. However, that answer only lead to more questions; why? what was the connection? No answers were to be found anytime soon."

i always wondered why it was like that

Great find, I had wondered who they were and why that was distorted on Ace for a long time. I edited the song (available in the downloads section of the page) to restore the distorted shout out. I even started a thread about it http://www.thirdbass.net/boards/smf/index.php/topic,27.msg212.html#msg212

Glad to have the mystery finally solved.

I think this was a great find also and many thanks for posting. Maybe its just me but it seems that there is always some kind of bad blood or hard feelings when people do business deals with Pete and its not limited to music but also baseball cards. I've always wondered what was up with that "censored" shout out on Ace in the Hole; at the time I thought there was something wrong with my tape. Mystery solved!

Now if only someone can convince me what the heck Pete says on Pop Goes the Weasel just before he says "........like a Scud see?" Nothing I read makes sense to me in the context of the song.
